Now it’s even easier to use Instax Wide in a 100-400 series Polaroid pack film camera. After several months of development, we’ve updated and improved the core features of our signature PolaStax film holder for Instax instant film.
Starting with version 2.8, PolaStax film holders include small “handles” that make it a cinch to remove the holder from the film compartment of your Polaroid land camera. These handles are large enough to grip with your thumb and forefinger but small enough not to obstruct the film lid.
With version 2.8, we’ve also made improvements to the PolaStax rolling dark slide. A better slide grip makes the dark slide easier to open and close, and we’ve streamlined the design of the dark slide’s transport mechanism. That means better, more reliable transport and fewer worries about the dark slide being fully closed when the holder is in your camera.
Version 2.8 also reduces the amount of rear focal offset inherent to the film holder. Version 2.7 had a focal offset of 1.9mm; with version 2.8, we’ve reduced that offset to 1.4mm.
Like version 2.7, version 2.8 will work with converted Polaroid 405 pack film holders so long as it’s paired with our Alternate 405 Safety Cap.
